I liked to enjoy a good breakfast to uplift my energy to start my day. Sipping a cup of hot coffee with a slice of fresh Danish was a good start of a day.
Transport and Accommodation
Ride on the train from Frankfurt to Cologne was easy and convenience. The transport time was less than 2 hours. I bought a pre-paid card for the convenience of mobile communication. I stayed in Courtyard Marriott Hotel. It was a small hotel but comfortable and clean, walking distance to the main street and the main train station.
Rhine River
River Rhine was beautiful especially when you saw the birds flying over. Took my walk along the river and heading to the famous Cologne Cathedral, felt so fabulous to enjoy moments of tranquility.
Ride on bicycle
Nothing compared to the pleasure of riding a bicycle of getting around Cologne. There were biking lanes everywhere and you could lock them up anywhere while you had lunch. You could even ride thru the walking mall if it was not too crowded.
Outdoor seating with friends or reading book.
I heard German loved reading books. There were many cafés and people liked outdoor seating in reading, drinking beer or gathering with friends.
Variety of small stores on the streets
There were many varieties of small stores on the streets including the shops for stationery, computer, shoes, bakery, café, grocery, flora, and food market.
Spectacular church
Cologne Cathedral was a must-to-visit landmark. The cathedral is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe. It was a spectacular and magnificent historical construction. I thought it looked more beautiful at night.
German beer, Schnitzel
Ate the the schnitzel with beer for dinner was a good idea. A schnitzel is a thin, boneless cutlet of meat, which is coated in breadcrumbs and often served with a slice of lemon.
