Symptoms and Healing Tips for Depression.

6/2/2020

I got numerous friends who were depression survivors. They gave me some ideas about the symptoms and the non-medicine healing tips.  But please noted that if you get one or just a few symptoms that last for a short time, you might not really have depression.

Symptoms:

  1. Depressed mood with many emotions of anxiety and worry.
  2. Sleeping too much or difficulty sleeping.
  3. Isolate yourself and don’t want to go outside.
  4. Irrational eating behavior. Appetite loss or increase.  Eating or drinking too much of your favorite food or drink such as wine, ice-cream, or desserts.
  5. Weak perception of time or money.
  6. Losing interest in doing anything.  Or watching TV and lying on the couch doing nothing.
  7. Agitated or mad at a small minor issue.
  8. Feeling of worthlessness and helplessness. Might regard yourself as a piece of furniture only.
  9. The mind is moving slow, can’t think. Difficult to make a small decision of turning right or left.
  10. Suicidal thoughts.

Tips for Healing Method

  1. Do exercise no matter an intensive workout or just a long walk. It was a chance to spend some time without any worries or concerns, just doing something positive.
  2. Walk on the sand or grass with bare foot. Let the waves hit your bare feet to wash away your negative energy.
  3. Intake the food with vitamin A, B, C
  4. Surround yourself with pleasant aromas (eg. essential oil with the smell of rose or orange) to uplift your energy.
  5. Do something to keep yourself busy such as cooking and drawing.
  6. Find the expert to help.
  7. Have your friend there to support you (not for counseling or advice).
  8. Drink orange juice
  9. Get more sunlight
  10. Learn to get along with yourself
  11. Tell yourself it will all be over

I have found exercise to be such a mood booster. Even though I might have to drag myself outside, I always feel so much better after I run! xo

These are great tips. I suffered from depression for over a year after my grandpa died, I started a LDR, and was feeling lost in life. There is no template for getting better, but focusing on a purpose and staying busy helped me a lot :)

Hi Kelly, well, yes, focusing on purpose can help a lot. Something like if your family motivates you, keep a photo within sight. If you're focus on saving for a trip to the beach, set a seashell next to your monitor, or a vacation photo as your desktop image....
