How to tell I get the right food for my family?

I draw two pictures of my family meal.

My favorite meal is during my childhood

I lived in the rural countryside during my childhood, and made me obsessed with the food using the natural ingredients, contained no coloring, no artificial flavoring, no preservatives, or emulsifiers of any kind. They are easy to prepare, eat seasoning, super delicious, we feel good about what we eat. My mom was the great chef to cook my favorite meal using the seasoning ingredients.  Very often, I felt like the meal was a feast which was free of charge to the guests, carried no condition, and everyone had the pleasure to enjoy it.  Our traditional family dinner was meant to spend joyful time together.  It was the time of the day to relax, recharge, laugh, tell stories and catch up on the day’s ups and downs among the family members. Laughter was the simple format for nourishment.  Disaffection and distrust settled over the table. The wrongs were forgotten.

What is the change in my current family meal?

What does my family meal look like today? What is the change? As a career mom, I never get the time to prepare the family meal in the hectic life.  Maybe “feeding” is a more appropriate term to describe what I’m doing to fill up the family stomachs. I’m almost always in a hurry, going for the fast cooking and convenience.  The family meal is not appealing to anyone.  The kids get overweight, so do my hubby and me.  They love eating out more than my cooking food.

Then I ask myself the questions:
What is my favorite meal at any points of my life?
Who is the chef of that meal? Why did that meal so impressive to me?
What is my least favorite meal? Who is the chef? What made that meal so awful to me?

How does food impact our happiness?

Our happiness is so much rooted in our physical bodies and our family wellness.  I want to re-design the right food for my family from the rural recipes:

  • Everyday…green
  • Tasty and delicious
  • Health-oriented
  • for beauty diet (we’re women, after all)

I will share the recipes on my site. Coming soon in the simplylovetag.com
