1. Solo Traveling when I was 20s.In my twenties, I believed that traveling was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Solo traveling was particularly appealing because it gave me complete freedom to decide where to go, what to eat, and where to stay. I was in control of my journey and made all the decisions. Although some people might warn you about the possibility of danger, threats, and loneliness, can anything in this world guarantee 100% safety? I love experiencing activities like skydiving for a 360-degree bird's-eye view of a magnificent landscape, trekking, boating in Nepal, or following the footsteps of ancient Incas in Machu Picchu, Peru. The adventure was out there. I had so much fun with excitement and embraced curiosity. “Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.” — T.S Eliot 2. Traveling with friends when I was 30s.Friendship is a source of happiness. I used to enjoy traveling with my friends in my 30s something. Although it was tough to carry a heavy backpack weighing 5kg and walk for miles to a motel with no toilet flush, experiencing the good and bad moments of the adventure with my friends made all the difference. If your boyfriend was your travel-mate, it added more fun to your journey (but it would be a nightmare sometimes). I still remember my wonderful experience hanging out on the streets of Buenos Aires to see people dancing the tango out there, touching faces, men leading and women following. People were so sexy as if to invite you to dance with them together. “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together” - African proverb 3. Family travel. Change from using a backpack to Samsonite.Family vacation has become our annual family event. The backpack had changed to Samsonite. Travel has meant an Easter egg-riddled journey for the kids, but for me, it means anxiety more than excitement. Right from the start planning and preparing for the journey, I can't get over the worries about non-refundable fares, tight schedules, security issues, or any other inconvenience unexpected things can happen along the journey. Throughout the journey, the kids are talking non-stop, and eating takes us longer than others. But when I find the kids are having so much fun, I feel the contentment packed with their laughs and smiles.
