The hotels are weird

1. Treehotel, Harads, Sweden

Picture
Treehouse is the paradise for kids. Stay in the tree hotel near the small village of Harads in the north of Sweden is never short of amazing. The remote tree hotel dwelling brings you back to your childhood fantasy of the "Swiss Family Robinson" fairy tale. The shelter of the hotel is made of the aluminum structure with the mirrored glass to reflect the surrounding and the sky. The children would get excited about the tangle of green limbs swaddled the tree house like a living hammock. By and large, you would feel like the life has slowed down and allowed you to sit back relighting the spirit of the child within. In fact, it is an adult escapist fantasy embrace with the emotions for adventure seeking, nostalgia, and proximity to the wild of nature.

2. Robot hotel, Nagasaki, Japan

Picture
Henn-na Hotel in Nagasaki is the world's first hotel operated with staffed entirely by robots. It advocates the “ultimate of efficiency” assortment of innovation in a weird sense.  The guests check in with the help of a vicious-looking dinosaur robot.  If you don’t like talking with the scary dinosaur, that robot lady with blinking lashes probably can serve you better.

What is scarier than the dinosaur robot is that when our children grow up, they would have a hard time to compete with the much more sophisticated machines. The robots work harder than us, definitely can work longer hours than us, and accept lower pay than us.  The jobs of the future will be what robots can’t do such as something related to creativity, imagination, leadership, analysis, telling the joke, writing a book, doing science...

3. Floating Hotel, Japan

PicturePhoto credit: Huis Ten Bosch
Japanese theme park Huis Ten Bosch will launch the weird floating hotel pods by the end of 2017. They are the capsule hotel room floating across the sea overnight.  The concept is interesting.  It is awesome to gaze up at the stars through its glass ceiling at night. But I somewhat dislike the feeling of drifting and floating.  We like sailing more than drifting, aren't we?  We are the captain of the parenting ship steering to the wonderland of happiness for our children. We don't want to be like Alice:

Alice: Would you tell me which way I ought to go from here?
The Cheshire cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.
Alice: I don’t much care where.
The Cheshire cat: then it doesn’t much matter which way you go.

(Quote from Alice in Wonderland)

4. The Dog Bark Park Inn, Idaho, USA

The closer we get to animals, the more joy they give us. What if I tell you to experience the joy of cherishing animal from staying inside a 30 feet tall beagle? His name is Sweet Willy, at 30 feet tall, is the biggest beagle in the world. The Dog Bark Hotel is a beagle shape building in Idaho with beds and breakfast accommodation which is great for the kids on vacation.

5. The Hobbit Motel, Woodlyn Park, Waitomo, New Zealand

Picture
It would be great to explore the charm of fantasy from the tale of hobbits, wizards, dwarves, and dragons in the Hobbit Hotel.  The Hobbit Hotel located in Waitomo surround with the magnificent landscapes of rolling green pastures in New Zealand.  The interior design of the room is surprisingly modern and comfortable for up to six people accommodation. The outside appearance of the hotel looks like embedded with the underground for hobbits come straight from Tolkien’s Middle-earth! The structure was using polystyrene for keeping the room cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

6. ION Luxury Adventure Hotel, Nesjavellir, Iceland

View the aurora is one of the must-do items in the bucket list, isn’t it? ION Adventure Hotel is a great spot from where to view over the Icelandic lava field and the Northern Lights. The location of the hotel is near the Thingvellir National Park, close to the “Golden Circle” route.  Viewing the aurora is conditional. Some people stayed for weeks in Iceland but may not lucky enough to see this natural beauty in real.

7. Giraffe Manor, Nairobi, Kenya

Picture
What would be an unusual safari experience in the Nairobi with the giraffe appear at the upstairs window when you are eating breakfast?  Giraffe Manor is small hotel located in the suburb of Nairobi, Kenya.  The design of the hotel is colonial feel look like the Scottish hunting lodge. It is awesome to take a break from the daily routine by stepping away from the hectic life to enjoy the beautiful smell of nature telling your mind that everything is ok.
